welcome!Welcome to my blog! I thought I would give you a chance to get to know me a little better... My thoughts today are on portraits. While photographing young children can be challenging, we can make it easier on ourselves by giving up ideas of the "perfect" portrait. For starters if they feel comforted holding their favorite doll, I say we keep it in the portrait. A little guy recently needed his "Ariel" while I was photographing his school picture. Of course, I could have zoomed in on just his face, but I didn't! I wanted to show what made him so happy. I photographed him with Ariel on his lap. His mother said she wanted to keep the doll in the final image because "it is a part of his life at this age" right now. Looking back years later at this picture, they will be reminded of this time in his life. I say let your child be himself. Do you remember your child needing a favorite doll/ blanket/shirt during their day?
